We have a new World Languages Curriculum Framework in California!
On July 8, 2020, the State Board of Education unanimously voted to adopt the new World Languages Framework! A curriculum framework helps instructors put the content standards into practice by providing guidance in instructional strategies that meet the needs of all learners; assessment of the content area; selection of instructional materials; choice of professional learning opportunities that will sustain standards-aligned, equitable pedagogy, and more. Currently, the California Department of Education is working on the final edits for grammar, punctuation, and formatting. In the meantime, you can view the draft chapters here. The content is not going to change in a substantive way, but the link to the document will change when CDE finishes the final edits. We will update you when the final version is posted on the CDE website.
